Passive Villa | Solar Shaded House | 2008
This villa in Portugal was careful designed with 3d software and analysis tools to control the direct sunlight entering the house and heating the space only when needed, whilst preserving the views and light entering with large overhanging eaves to the south and west sides.
Solid Concrete flank walls give thermal mass such that the villa can run without AC in summer and virtually zero heating in winter.
